Climate change is a major global environmental problem and challenge nowadays. Worldwide research and attempt is being made to know the various factors causing global warming and its impact on the environment. Impact has been observed on all the sectors viz. social, natural and economic, which needs to be addressed and remedial measures are to be made. In the context of Madhya Pradesh, a land locked state having vast natural resources like forest, water and minerals, studies related to climate change becomes more pertinent especially vulnerability adopted and mitigation measures.
The M.P. Council of Science & technology has proposed to established Climate Change Research Centre at it Head Quarter in Vigyan Bhawan.
The objective of the centre is simulation of Climate Change to assess the impact and vulnerability of climate change develop, adaptation strategies in the basis of vulnerability assessment at state/regional level.
